Sacramento State will serve as host to the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary Round on Thursday, May 24 through Saturday, May 26. The three days of competition take place at Hornet Stadium and feature some of the nation's premier student-athletes. Qualifying individuals advance to the 2018 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 6-9.
Gates at Hornet Stadium open at 11:00 a.m. on all three days. Merchandise is available for purchase from the booths located on the north end of Hornet Stadium. This year's program is available only in digital form and can be found at NCAA.com/DIOutdoorTFRegionals. Concessions are available on the north concourse of Hornet Stadium.
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn berths into the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. The best 24 relay times also advance to NCAA prelims. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West Preliminary Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 6-9. There is no decathlon or heptathlon competition at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds. The top 24 decathlon and heptathlon marks in the nation earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship site.
All-meet tickets for the 2018 NCAA Division I Track and Field West Preliminary Rounds are on sale. Tickets are available for all three days of competition. All seats are general admission. Will call orders via the phone or internet may be picked up at any gate beginning on Thursday, May 24. Other pickups would be available at the Will Call window. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
There are several parking lots adjacent to Hornet Stadium. Parking will be $10 beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For those arriving before 3 p.m. a daily permit must be purchased through the kiosks in the lot. Any vehicle without a permit will be ticketed.
