SACRAMENTO, Calif — A week after an impressive start to the indoor season, the Sacramento State indoor track & field teams will return to Idaho for the Snake River Open on Friday and Saturday at Holt Arena at Idaho State.

The meet will give the team a preview of the site for the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships in February. The Snake River Open begins with the opening day of the pentathlon and heptathlon on Friday at 11 a.m. PT. The multi events will open Saturday's action at 8 a.m. PT with the 60-hurdles while the main program will get under at 9 a.m. PT with the women's weight throw.

This weekend will mark the first time Sacramento State has competed at Idaho State since the Bengals hosted the 2014 Big Sky Indoor Championships where the men finished second and the women were fourth.

Idaho State, Southern Utah and Weber State of the Big Sky Conference will also compete in the Snake River Open as well as Westminster (Utah), Great Fallas and Carroll College.

Sacramento State had 10 student-athletes as well as a pair of relay teams move into the top five on the Big Sky Conference performance list with their efforts at the Bronco Invitational last weekend.

Freshman Jah Strange cracked the top five in a pair of events. Strange is second in the triple jump with a best of 48-11.00 and is fifth in the long jump at 23-01.75.

Fellow freshman Alec Foster moved into second place in the conference this season after running 48.33 in the 400. That time also moved Foster into third place in school history.

Senior Candice Dominguez leads the Big Sky in the women's high jump. Dominguez won the event at the Bronco Invitational after clearing 5-09.25. That height places her two inches ahead of teammate Elizabeth Venzon who ranks second in the league.

Below is a list of the Sacramento State student-athletes that are currently ranked among the top five in the Big Sky:
