MEN’S TENNIS DOWNED BY SAN FRANCISCO, 6-1

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento State's Oliver Andersen won his singles match, but San Francisco defeated the Hornets, 6-1, in a non-conference men's tennis match Saturday afternoon at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.

With the loss, the Hornets, who were playing withoutn their top two players in Marek Marksoo and Sean Kolar, dropped to 2-9 this season. San Francisco improved to 6-5 with the victory.

The Dons swept all three doubles matches to earn the point.

In singles play, Andersen, who is a junior from Denmark, defeated Germain Bahri in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 6-1).

Sacramento State's Roy Brandys (No. 1), Niranjan Ram (No. 2), Tom Miller (No. 3), Joaquin Marquez (No. 4) and Ayman Abdulwahab (No. 6) each lost their singles matches.

The Hornets, who began a nine-match homestand today, return to action for a doubleheader against conference foes Portland State (10 a.m.) and Southern Utah (3 p.m.).
