  • MEN'S GOLF PLACES EIGHTH AT THE FARMS INVITATIONAL

    Sophomore Eric Olsem capped his second-best 54-hole tournament at Sacramento State by shooting a team-leading 74 during the final round of The Farms Invitational on Tuesday. Olsem finished the tournament at 75-73-74-222 and was 6-over par in the three rounds.

    Wonje Choi and Eric Olsem each stand at 4-over par following the first day of The Farms Invitational to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team on Monday. Choi was the most consistent golfer for the Hornets, ranking second on the team in both rounds with a total of 72-76-148. Olsem shot 78 in the opening round by came back with a team-leading 73 in the afternoon.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team recorded its best round of the Waves Challenge but remained in 15th place after play on Tuesday. The Hornets shot 344-335-333-1012 during the three rounds.
  • DARKNESS HALTS SECOND ROUND OF WAVES CHALLENGE

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team played its first rounds of the spring season on Monday at the Waves Challenge at Saticoy Country Club. The Hornets were led by Devyn Fitchhorn and are in 15th place when play was halted due to darkness. The second round will conclude on Tuesday morning and will be immediately followed by the final round.
  • MEN'S GOLF SIGNS RILEY BELL TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

    Sacramento Sate head men’s golf coach Kamden Brakel announced the signing of Riley Bell to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced today. Bell will enroll at Sacramento State as a freshman in the fall of 2018.
  • FITCHHORN NAMED BIG SKY MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

    Sacramento State sophomore Devyn Fitchhorn was named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Fitchhorn during his career and the second for Sacramento State this fall.

    Jeff Carr shot 72 and Devyn Fitchhorn added a 73 to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team during the final round of the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic on Sunday.

    The Sacramento State golf team shot 303 during the second round of the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic on Saturday at the Ka’anapali Golf Club. The Hornets were led by a 1-over par 72 from Eric Olsem and had Ash Patel match that score while competing as an individual.

    Devyn Fitchhorn and Ash Patel each shot a 1-under par round of 70 during the first round of the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic on Friday at Ka’anapali Golf Club. Fitchhorn’s efforts were the best on the team and helped the Hornets tie for 16th place during the first of three rounds. Patel was competing as an individual and is tied for 45th in the field.

    A career best round of 69 by Devyn Fitchhorn highlighted the third round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational for the Sacramento State men’s golf team on Saturday at The Reserve at Spanos Park. The Hornets finished the tournament tied for 17th place with a three-round total of 300-290-296-886.
  • LIBERATORE'S 71 MOVES MEN'S GOLF UP THE LEADERBOARD AT PACIFIC INVITATIONAL

    Zach Liberatore shot 71 and Eric Olsem added an even par round of 72 to help the Sacramento State men’s golf team move up three spots in the standings during the second round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Friday at the The Reserve at Spanos Park. The Hornets shot 290 during the round to finish the day at 2-over par. That performance moved the team into 16th place heading into the final round and was 10 strokes better than its first round score.

    Freshman Jeff Carr had his best collegiate round but, unfortunately for the Sacramento State men’s golf team, it came as an individual during the first round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Thursday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

    Wonje Choi and Zak Sievers each shot 1-under par rounds of 70 for the lowest scores by Sacramento State men’s golfers during the final round of the Nick Watney Invitational on Tuesday at Sunnyside Country Club. Choi’s efforts helped the team move up three spots in the final standings, finishing the tournament in eighth place with a total of 298-301-293-892.

    Sacramento State’s Ash Patel and Sofie Babic were named the Big Sky Conference Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, it was announced today. The honor was the first for Patel while Babic claimed her second award.

    Senior Ash Patel posted his second under-par round at the Golfweek Conference challenge to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team on Tuesday. Patel shot 71 and finished the tournament tied for 10th place at 70-72-71-213 (3-under par). Sacramento State concluded the three-day tournament in 15th place.

    Ash Patel finished at 2-under par to lead Sacramento State in the first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Sunday. Patel is tied for eighth place following the first of three days and helped Sacramento State move into a four-way tie for fifth place in the tournament which features one school from each Div. I conference.
