    Landon Azevedo shot 73 and Robert Parden, Wonje Choi and Devyn Fitchhorn each shot 75 to account for Sacramento State’s team score of 298 during the final round of the NCAA Stanford Regional. The Hornets finished the tournament in 12th place with a total of 300-290-298-888.

    Wonje Choi matched his career best and led the Sacramento State men’s golf team with a round of 69 during the second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional on Tuesday. The Hornets improved their team score by 10 strokes from the opening round and is tied for 12th place heading into the final day of play.

    Seniors Aaron Beverly and Robert Parden each shot 73 (3-over par) to tie for the low score for the Sacramento State men’s golf team in the first round of the NCAA Stanford Regional on Monday.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team will continue its season at the Stanford Regional of the 2017 NCAA Div. I Men’s Golf Championship, it was announced today. The tournament will take place on May 15-17 at Stanford Golf Course.

    Kamden Brakel was named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year, it was announced today. The honor is the first for Brakel in his career.
  • MEN'S GOLF WINS BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIP; BEVERLY IS MEDALIST

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team posted its second consecutive round of 285 (3-under par) and cruised to the team title at the Big Sky Championship on Sunday at Boulder Creek Golf Course. The title was third for the team but first since the Big Sky re-instated men’s golf in 2015.
  • CHOI, BEVERLY, PARDEN ALL UNDER PAR AS MEN'S GOLF PULLS AWAY AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIP

    The winds decreased in the early going on Saturday and the scoring in the second round of the Big Sky Men's Golf Championship followed course. The Hornets finished at 3-under par during the round and built an 18-stroke lead heading into the final round on Sunday.

    The conference title and an automatic bid to an NCAA regional will be on the line when the Sacramento State men’s golf team competes at the Big Sky Conference Championships on April 28-30 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. Teams will play one round per day over the three days.

    Sacramento State senior Aaron Beverly was named the Big Sky Conference Men’s Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive season and headlined a group of seven Hornets who earned all-Big Sky honors. Beverly was joined on the first team by Robert Parden and Wonje Choi. Connor Day was named to the second team, Devyn Fitchhorn earned third-team honors and Cody Bates and Zach Liberatore were each honorable mention.

    Aaron Beverly and Robert Parden each shot 73 to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team in the final round of the El Macero Classic on Friday. The Hornets finished the tournament in ninth place after shooting 312-300-304-916.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team battled morning rains and high winds in the afternoon during the first day of the El Macero Classic on Thursday at El Macero Country Club. The Hornets were led by a 75 from Wonje Choi in the first rounds and an even-par 72 from Aaron Beverly in the second round.

    Sacramento State golfers Julia Becker and Aaron Beverly were selected as the Big Sky Conference Women’s and Men’s Golfers of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the second of the year for Becker and the fifth for Beverly this season.

    Wonje Choi, Aaron Beverly and Devyn Fitchhorn each finished under par in the third round to help the Sacramento State men’s golf team finish in fourth place at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday. Choi shot a career-best 69, Beverly carded a round of 70 and Fitchhorn added a 71.

    Aaron Beverly shot rounds of 70 and 67 and is tied for first place following the first day of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday at the Whirlwind Golf Club. Beverly’s performance led Sacramento State in both rounds and helped the team into fifth place at 291-286-577. The final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday.

    Wonje Choi posted his second consecutive round of 71 and Robert Parden added an even-par round of 72 to guide the Sacramento State men’s golf team in the final round of the rain-shortened Border Olympics on Saturday at the Laredo Country Club.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team counted four scores which were under par and is tied for third place following the first day of the Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club. The tournament was scheduled for 36 holes on Friday but rain halted play with three groups left on the course during the first round. The second round has been cancelled and the tournament will conclude with a single round on Saturday.

    Sacramento State sophomore Wonje Choi earned honors this week by being named the Big Sky Conference Men's Golfer of the Week following a high finish at the Sacramento State Invitational. This is the first time in his collegiate career Choi has received this honor.

The tournament will conclude with a single round on Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m.

    The fifth annual Sacramento State Invitational returns to Valley Hi Country Club on Mon.-Tue., March 6-7. The first day is scheduled for 36 holes with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a single round which will start at 7:30 off holes 1 and 10.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team was scheduled to begin the spring portion of its season with the first two rounds of the PRO Compression Invitational on Monday at The Farms Golf Club. However, the sun was not quite in spring mode and play was halted late in the second round due to darkness.

    Sacramento State senior Aaron Beverly was named the Big Sky Men’s Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Ka’anapalia Collegiate Classic in Hawaii. The honor is the the third for Beverly this season and second in as many weeks. He was earned the award seven times during his career.

The Hornets shot 1-over as a team during the round and finished the tournament tied for 17th place at 301-285-285-871.
