  • BEVERLY, PARDEN SHOOT 1-OVER TO LEAD MEN'S GOLF AT EL MACERO CLASSIC

    Aaron Beverly and Robert Parden each shot 73 to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team in the final round of the El Macero Classic on Friday. The Hornets finished the tournament in ninth place after shooting 312-300-304-916.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team battled morning rains and high winds in the afternoon during the first day of the El Macero Classic on Thursday at El Macero Country Club. The Hornets were led by a 75 from Wonje Choi in the first rounds and an even-par 72 from Aaron Beverly in the second round.
  • BECKER, BEVERLY NAMED BIG SKY GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

    Sacramento State golfers Julia Becker and Aaron Beverly were selected as the Big Sky Conference Women’s and Men’s Golfers of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the second of the year for Becker and the fifth for Beverly this season.

    Wonje Choi, Aaron Beverly and Devyn Fitchhorn each finished under par in the third round to help the Sacramento State men’s golf team finish in fourth place at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday. Choi shot a career-best 69, Beverly carded a round of 70 and Fitchhorn added a 71.

    Aaron Beverly shot rounds of 70 and 67 and is tied for first place following the first day of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday at the Whirlwind Golf Club. Beverly’s performance led Sacramento State in both rounds and helped the team into fifth place at 291-286-577. The final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday.

    Wonje Choi posted his second consecutive round of 71 and Robert Parden added an even-par round of 72 to guide the Sacramento State men’s golf team in the final round of the rain-shortened Border Olympics on Saturday at the Laredo Country Club.
  • MEN'S GOLF SHOOTS 6-UNDER PAR IN RAIN SHORTENED FIRST DAY OF BORDER OLYMPICS

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team counted four scores which were under par and is tied for third place following the first day of the Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club. The tournament was scheduled for 36 holes on Friday but rain halted play with three groups left on the course during the first round. The second round has been cancelled and the tournament will conclude with a single round on Saturday.

    Sacramento State sophomore Wonje Choi earned honors this week by being named the Big Sky Conference Men's Golfer of the Week following a high finish at the Sacramento State Invitational. This is the first time in his collegiate career Choi has received this honor.

    Wonje Choi shot a 1-under par round of 71 in the morning and Zach Liberatore posted a team best round of 70 in the second round to lead the Hornets during the first day of the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday at Valley Hi Country Club. The tournament will conclude with a single round on Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m.

    The fifth annual Sacramento State Invitational returns to Valley Hi Country Club on Mon.-Tue., March 6-7. The first day is scheduled for 36 holes with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a single round which will start at 7:30 off holes 1 and 10.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team was scheduled to begin the spring portion of its season with the first two rounds of the PRO Compression Invitational on Monday at The Farms Golf Club. However, the sun was not quite in spring mode and play was halted late in the second round due to darkness.

    Sacramento State senior Aaron Beverly was named the Big Sky Men’s Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Ka’anapalia Collegiate Classic in Hawaii. The honor is the the third for Beverly this season and second in as many weeks. He was earned the award seven times during his career.

    Connor Day shot 70 and Aaron Beverly and Devyn Fitchhorn each recorded rounds of 71 to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team during the final round of the Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic on Sunday. The Hornets shot 1-over as a team during the round and finished the tournament tied for 17th place at 301-285-285-871.

Aaron Beverly and Connor Day each shot 70 (1-under par) on Saturday to lead the Hornets. Devyn Fitchhorn added a round of 71 and Robert Parden shot 72 to help the team finish at 1-under par for the day.

The Hornets fell from first to third place during the day and enter the final round trailing BYU by eight strokes and Seattle by one.

The Hornets totaled 278 and were followed by BYU (282), Boise State (284), Seattle (285) and Pacific (286) in the top five.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf team counted three scores of 72 or better and finished the Nick Watney Invitational in sixth place on Tuesday at San Joaquin Country Club. The Hornets totaled 288-293-288-869 and were 16 strokes behind BYU who won the team title.

    Senior Aaron Beverly had rounds of 68 and 69 during the first day of the Ram Masters Invitational to lead the Sacramento State men’s golf team. Beverly is tied for second place and is two strokes out of first heading into the final round.
  • MEN'S GOLF FINISHES THIRD AT WASHINGTON STATE TOURNAMENT

    Led by a 68 from Zach Liberatore and a 69 from Connor Day, the Sacramento State men’s golf team placed third at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Washington State on Tuesday. The Hornets shot 280 (4-under par) during the final round and finished just one stroke behind Utah. Host Washington State maintained its first-day lead and ended the tournament with a total of 843 to win the event by 18 strokes.

    The Sacramento State men’s golf is in third place following the first two rounds of the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Monday at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course. The tournament is the first of the year for the Hornets who shot 294-288-582 in the opening day. The tournament concludes with the third round on Tuesday.
