TAYLOR TIES FOR 50TH AT EUGENE REGIONAL

EUGENE, Ore. — Sacramento State junior Owen Taylor finished tied for 50th at the NCAA Eugene Regional on Saturday. Taylor finished the tournament with rounds of 73-79-75-267.

During his third round, Taylor began on the 10th hole with a bogey on the par-4. He followed with birdies on the par-4 11th and the par-3 12th to drop to 1-under. A pair of pars kept him there until he bogeyed the par-4 15th and 16th. A par on No. 17 was followed by a bogey on the par-4 18th leaving him at 2-over at the turn.

Taylor ended up with four consecutive bogeys after bogeying Nos. 1, 2 and 3. He finished his round with six straight pars.

The top five teams in the tournament advanced to the NCAA Championships. Those spots went to Stanford, Oregon, Oklahoma, Houston and Southern Carolina. Stanford entered the final round with an 11-stroke lead but was 15-over as a team on Saturday and held on for a one shot win.

Chattanooga's Chris Robb defeated Niklas Lindstrom of Liberty to claim the lone individual berth from the Eugene Regional.
