GAME PREVIEW

• Fresh off a home split last week, Sacramento State (8-9, 2-6) will begin a three-game road trip on Thursday at Idaho State (7-11, 3-6). Tip-off at Holt Arena is 6:05 p.m. PST.
• Last week, the Hornets had an easy time with Idaho (69-48) on Thursday, before losing Saturday's game against Eastern Washington in overtime (94-92).
• Overall, the Hornets have split their last four games, and currently sit in 10th place in the Big Sky standings with a 2-6 league mark.
• That 2-6 conference record is a little misleading as five of the team's eight league games have been decided by five points or less. Unfortunately for the Hornets, the team is 1-4 in those close outcomes.
• Four of the last five games have been decided by five points or less, including a 72-70 loss to Idaho State on Jan. 12 in the Nest.
• With 12 games remaining in the regular season, Sacramento State has already surpassed its win total from all of last season (7-25 overall, 4-14 in the Big Sky).
• The Hornets are 2-6 on the road this year, including 1-3 against Big Sky opposition. That one victory came in a 66-64 win at Northern Arizona on Jan. 17.
• All 11 Big Sky teams are playing a 20-game conference schedule this year, and Idaho State will be the first conference team that Sacramento State has played twice.
• In the teams' first meeting on Jan. 12, Sacramento State had a 64-62 lead with 2:38 remaining, but saw the Bengals eventually win the game on a Brandon Boyd layup with 1.8 seconds remaining.
• In a series littered with close games, Sacramento State is 20-31 against Idaho State.
• Dating back to last year, Idaho State has won the last three meetings and each of those games were decided by six points or less. In fact, a ridiculous 18 of the last 27 games between the two teams have been decided by six points or fewer.
• The Hornets are 9-9 in those 18 tight affairs with the Bengals.
• Sacramento State is 8-16 when playing the Bengals in Pocatello.
• The Bengals were swept on the road last week at the Montana schools, and have lost a season-high four straight. ISU's last win was the victory over the Hornets at the Nest.
• The Bengals are 3-3 at home this year, and 1-2 when playing Big Sky schools.
