The Hornets, who sold out each of their final five home games of the regular season, won at Portland, 73-66, in the first round of the CIT on Wednesday night. The win was the first in the postseason for the program in 53 years.

Saturday night will also mark the first time Sacramento State has hosted a postseason men's basketball game since the 1961-62 season when the Hornets won both games of the NCAA College Division Pacific Coast Regionals.

The Hornets, who are 21-11 overall this season, need just one victory to match the highest single-season win total in program history (1948-pres.).

Only 16 teams remain in the CIT, a single-elimination tournament in its seventh year of existence where all games are played at campus sites.
