Fresh off a 2-1 homestand that included a 77-71 victory over Portland State on Saturday night, Sacramento State (12-10, 7-7) returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Grand Forks to take on North Dakota (10-13, 7-7)…tip-off at the Sioux Center is 5:05 p.m. PST…the game is being televised by Fox College Sports (DirecTV, channel 626)…with seven games remaining in the regular season (six in conference), the Hornets have already posted their most overall wins (12) since the 2005-06 season, most Big Sky victories (7) since the 2004-05 season, and most home wins (9) since the 2004-05 season…in fact, the Hornets are attempting to become the first team during the program's Div. I era (1991-pres.) to finish the season with an overall winning percentage above the .500 mark…a win on Thursday would match the team's most Big Sky wins (8 in 2004-05) in any season since joining the league in 1996-97…Sacramento State could just as easily be 10-4 in conference play as the team has suffered three one-point losses against league opposition…that includes a one-point loss to Montana, a team which is currently 14-0 in the Big Sky…Thursday's game is big for playoff implications as Sacramento State and North Dakota are tied with Montana State for fourth place in the league standings, just one game back of third-place Southern Utah (8-6)…the top seven teams in the 11-member league qualify for the Big Sky Tournament (March 14-16), a place the Hornets haven't been since the 2005-06 season…Sacramento State is 3-7 on the road this year, and has dropped its last three games away from the home floor…the Hornets will look to sweep the season series against North Dakota, which included a 67-58 home win on Jan. 24…starting sophomore point guard Dylan Garrity missed the game with a back injury, the only game he's missed during his career…the Hornets are 2-1 all-time against UND, as the teams have played three times over the last three years…Sacramento State lost in Grand Forks (64-60) on Nov. 19, 2010, in its only game ever played at the Sioux Center…like every conference game, Thursday's contest can be seen live and free on Big Sky TV…the game can also be heard on the internet at www.hornetsports.com with 16th year play-by-play announcer Steve McElroy calling all the action…live stats can be found at www.undsports.com.
