The Hornet Club has launched its new membership guide and annual fund drive for the 2018-19 academic year. With the tag line - One City, One Team, One Mission - the Hornet Club hopes to foster pride within the Sacramento community to help support Hornet student-athletes.
"Sacramento State is Sacramento's University," Athletics Director Mark Orr said. "I want members of this community to take pride in their team."
The Hornet Club is the fundraising arm of Sacramento State Athletics. Through their efforts, they work to raise money for the department as a whole and each of the 21 Division I teams at Sacramento State. Every person who contributes to Sacramento State Athletics, whether it's football, softball, or track and field, is a member of the Hornet Club.
With the rising cost in tuition and the cost of attendance being emphasized within Division I Athletics, fundraising is more important than ever before. The cost of attendance is the average cost to attend the university for one academic year. This includes tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses.
"We are working hard to create a winning culture and provide a first class student-athlete experience at Sacramento State," Associate Athletics Director Markus Jennings said. "The support of our donor base and the community is essential to accomplishing our goals.
