CRAB FEED FUNDRAISER A BIG SUCCESS

CRAB FEED FUNDRAISER A BIG SUCCESS

Sacramento State Athletics’ annual Crab Feed fundraiser was a sell out on Saturday night, and for the first time in its 50-year history, the annual fundraiser was held on campus at the Harper Alumni Center.

Those in attendance enjoyed carnival games, prizes, fun, delicious crab and a room filled with Hornet spirit. Sacramento State student-athletes served over 225 guests and interacted with donors, fans, coaches and campus dignitaries including University President Robert Nelsen, and Mrs. Nelsen.

“We had a fabulous time and really enjoyed ourselves. Two thumbs up!” said Francis Herrera, longtime Hornet Club member and crab feed volunteer.  “That was a great idea to do the games instead of the raffle, everyone had a better chance of winning.”

Said LaVerne Simmons-Barnett, who was a Hornet Volleyball player and has worked on campus since 1986, “All of us won multiple prizes. The crab was awesome again and we had plenty to eat. We even had a whole crab in one of our bowls!”

This year’s Crab Feed generated over $25,000 for the Hornet Fund in support of the Athletics programs at Sacramento State.  We can’t wait for next year!
