Game Notes Sacramento State | Eastern Washington

1. Dress Code

Saturday has been designated a blackout and fans are encouraged to wear black clothing to the game. The Hornets will wear their black jerseys for the first time this season and will also don their white helmets at home for the first time. Sacramento State has worn a different uniform combination for every game this year.

2. Going Out With A Bang

Stick around following the game for a fireworks display. Don't confuse the actual fireworks for the Hornet offense which has averaged 63.5 points in its first two home games this season.

3. Bring the Entire Family

Along with Saturday being a blackout, it will also serve as Kids Day. All children 12 and under will receive FREE admission and there will be activities throughout the game for youth. If you are looking to make it a Sacramento State Day, fans can also attend the volleyball game against Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. and the men's soccer game against UC Davis at 3 p.m.

4. Honorary Captain

This week's honorary captain is Al Biancani. A former football, track & field and cross country student-athlete at Sacramento State, Biancani has trained some of the most notable athletes in Sacramento. He served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Sacramento Kings for 18 years and currently owns Biancani Fitness & Dynamics in Folsom.

Each week the honorary captain speaks to the team on Friday night, joins the captains on the field for the coin toss and is a part of the Hornet game day activities.

5. Big Sky Opener

Saturday's game against Eastern Washington will mark the 24th season in which the Hornets will compete in the Big Sky Conference. This year's game marks the latest start to Big Sky play since Sacramento State joined the league in 1996. The latest the Hornets previously played a conference game was Oct. 2 at Northern Arizona in 2004. Sacramento State and Weber State were the only two schools to not play a conference game last weekend.
