|Game Notes||Sacramento State | Arizona State|
1. Clear It Up
Arizona State's Sun Devil Stadium is using a clear bag policy this season. Fans can bring in items which are packed in a clear bag no larger than 12"x6"x12" or can use a 1-gallon plastic storage bag. Small clutch bags are allowed as long as they do not exceed 4.5"x6.5". Further information can be found HERE
2. Back to His Roots
Sacramento State Hall of Famer Rick "Tree" Plumbtree will serve as the team's honorary captain this weekend. Plumbtree was the team's defensive line coach from 1982-93 and was inducted into the Sacramento State Hall of Fame in 2000. Plumbtree will travel with the team to Tempe, speak to the Hornets on Thursday night at the hotel and take part in gameday activities on Friday
3. Find Some Shade
When Sacramento State last played at Arizona State in 2013, the temperature at kick off was 107 degrees which was the highest ever recorded at Sun Devil Stadium. That mark could be challenged on Friday where the daytime high is projected to be 108 degrees. Don't worry though, Arizonians will tell you it's a dry heat. Sacramento State is no stranger to warm conditions. The team has been practicing from 3:30-5:30 p.m. during the week where it has been over 100 degrees.
4. Watch It If You Can
Friday night's game will be aired on the Pac-12 Network with NorCal native Guy Habernan providing the play-by-play, former Oakland Raider Lincoln Kennedy on color and Cindy Brunson as the sideline reporter. The one problem is that the Pac-12 Network is still not available for DirecTV customers. As always, you can listed to the game on ESPN 1320 and online with Jason Ross, Steve McElroy and Danny Sullivan.
5. It's Been Done Before
Sacramento State is 2-4 all-time against Pac-12 opponents. The team was one of two FCS programs to record back-to-back wins over FBS teams when it won at Oregon State and Colorado in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
The team will have to slow down Sun Devil quarterback Jayden Daniels who was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week. Daniels became the first true freshman QB to start for Arizona State in the modern era.
