SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Throughout training camp, several Sacramento State players will be featured for quick question and answer sessions. The first player is senior wide receiver Isiah Hennie.

After wearing number 5 for your first three years, you switched to number 1 for 2017. What were your reasons?
In high school I wore number 1 and I've always loved the number. Tavon Austin is my favorite college football player and that's what he wore. I feel like the number fits me.

You've taken on a bigger leadership role with the team this year. How has the changed the way you prepare?
In the past, I've come into camp focusing on myself and trying to make myself better. Right now, I have the playbook down and (the veteran receivers) and I are trying to get the younger guys better because after we leave we have to make sure they are ready. We have to make sure they know what to do because during the season it won't be good enough if only one person knows their stuff.

What can fans expect from the offense this year?
We are stressing execution. We are going to do what we want to do instead of adjusting to teams. We will be crisper but they are going to have to wait and see for themselves.

Your next catch will be the 100th of your career which places you among the top at Sacramento State. What are your individual goals for 2017?
I always want to be all-Big Sky and an All-American. I feel like I've put in the work to do so and that's my big goal. Winning games is also high on my list and I want the community to get on board with us.

You are the only player in school history to return a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown in school history. Do you still enjoy playing on special teams?
I love it. It's my favorite part of the game because I feel like I can change the game at any moment. Those are the biggest plays and a lot of people take special teams for granted.
