Senior women’s tennis player Sophie Lohscheidt and football player Markell Williams have been selected as Sacramento State’s 2014 Big Sky Scholar Athlete Award winners, the conference announced.

WILLIAMS, ESKEW NAMED TO HAMPSHIRE HONOR SOCIETY
Former Sacramento State football players Markell Williams and Trent Eskew were part of a record 838 players named to the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, the organization announced Tuesday. The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players at all divisions who are starters or significant contributors who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better throughout their collegiate career.

OFFENSE ERUPTS IN SPRING GAME
The Sacramento State football team concluded its spring practice with the annual Spring Game on Saturday at Hornet Stadium. The offense scored five touchdowns and made a field goal in its nine drives while the defense came up with an interception and a fourth-down stop.

SHORT-HANDED FOOTBALL HOLDS SECOND SPRING SCRIMMAGE
The Sacramento State football team suited up just 54 players, including only one quarterback, for its second scrimmage of spring practice on Saturday. Despite the lack of bodies, the offense and defense both produced highlights during the 54-play scrimmage at Hornet Stadium.

The Sacramento State football team added another member to its 2014 signing class with the addition of linebacker Morgan Nevin, it was officially announced today. Nevin will enroll at the University for the spring semester and will have two seasons of eligbility remaining.

The Sacramento State football team added the first pieces to its 2014 recruiting class with the signing of three players to National Letters of Intent, it was announced today. The group is comprised of offensive lineman Anthony Viveiros, defensive back James Ferraro and receiver Dominic Coulter. All three players will enroll at the University for the spring semester.

The 60th Causeway Classic presented by Pepsi will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Hornet Stadium when Sacramento State hosts UC Davis at 3:37 p.m. This year marks the fifth consecutive season that the two teams have met in the season finale. The game is part of the season-long ScholarShare Causeway Cup.
