SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State (16-8, 2-1 WAC) heads out on the road for the first time in over three weeks as they travel to Riverside, Calif. to take on WAC newcomer Cal Baptist (17-8, 2-1 WAC) in a three-game weekend series. In its first year in the WAC and at Div. I, Cal Baptist opened the season with a nine-game win streak and won its first conference series last weekend. Sacramento State, meanwhile, has won 14 of its last 16, including wins at No. 3 UCLA and vs. Cal.

National Leaders Sacramento State leads all NCAA Div. I baseball in two categories through March 28: Strikeout-to-Walk Ratio (4.45) and Walks-Allowed-Per-Nine-Innings (2.17). They are among the top 10 in the nation in another three categories.
On The Road Again After 13 straight games at John Smith Field, Sacramento State will head back out on the road for a three-game weekend conference series against the Cal Baptist Lancers. The Hornets have played 18 of their 24 games this season at home.
Win Streak Sacramento State's 11-game win streak from March 8 through 23 was the team's third longest in Div. I history (16, 1992) and the second longest under head coach Reggie Christiansen (12, 2014).

About Last Game
Sacramento State hosted the Pac-12's California Golden Bears at John Smith Field on Tuesday and used seven different pitchers to combine for a 6-0 shutout win.
Austin Roberts earned the win with two innings to start the game. In total, the Hornets' seven pitchers gave up just four hits and three walks over nine scoreless innings. They struck out 13 Bears.
The offense scored six times on eight hits and eight walks. Each of the Hornets' first two runs came on back-to-back bases-loaded walks. Ryan Walstad had a career night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run, while Steven Moretto slugged his third home run of the season.
The win was Sacramento State's second consecutive against Cal after beating them, 4-1, at Cal last season. The two teams face off again at Berkeley in April.
Continuing In Conference
The Hornets return to conference play after Tuesday's non-conference matchup with Cal. Sacramento State will take on the Cal Baptist Lancers in what will be the first ever matchup between the two programs.
Sacramento State is off to a 2-1 start in WAC play this season, winning the series at home last weekend against UTRGV. The Hornets have won or swept their conference opening series in five straight seasons.
On The Road Again
After a stretch of 13 straight home games, Sacramento State will head back on the road for this weekend's three-game set at Cal Baptist in Riverside. The Hornets have played just six road games this year and are 1-6 away from the John.
Sacramento State went 12-1 during their 13-game homestand, including 11 straight wins from March 8 through March 23.
