From Head Coach Reggie Christiansen:
We are pleased to announce our 4th annual Diamond Dinner on Friday, January 24th. The dinner will be held once again at the Folsom Community Center in Folsom. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and 100% of the proceeds go towards making the student-athlete experience better for our players. This year's dinner will be focused entirely around our 2014 baseball team.
It should be a great night of player videos, team highlight videos, prizes and auction items. You will have a unique opportunity to learn about our players and what they go through as student-athletes at Sacramento State. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 7:15 p.m. We will keep the night short; I promise to have you out the door at 9:30 p.m.
Our fundraising efforts this year are focused on one area: to resurface our entire field. It will give our players a chance to play on a major league-quality playing surface. It is my goal to have the project completed before school begins next September. The cost of the project is around $190,000. As of today I have received a $50,000 donation towards the project, so we have $140,000 to go.
Following the Diamond Dinner on Saturday, January 25th, we will take on our professional alumni in an exhibition game starting at 1 p.m. at John Smith Field. See the above event flyer for more information on the dinner and to reserve your spot. I hope to see you there!
