EDINBURG, Texas – The first of a three-game series between Sacramento State and Texas-Pan American was suspended in the third inning on Friday night due to inclement weather. The game was originally stopped due to lightning before thunderstorms moved into the area to force the suspension.
Texas-Pan American was leading 1-0 in the top of the third inning when play was halted. The game will resume at 1 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday and game two of the series will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.
The Broncs got a run in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by senior Alex Howe. Hornet starter Brennan Leitao allowed just one hit and had three strikeouts through two innings while Texas Pan-American ace Sam Street allowed two hits over two scoreless innings.
