DALLAS — Sacramento State's Sutter McLoughlin and Chris Lewis were two of 32 standout baseball players from across Div. I who were named to the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-America teams, it was announced today.

McLoughlin was named to the first team as a relief pitcher while Lewis was placed on the second team as a designated hitter. Both the first and second teams consisted of 16 players. The only other schools to have at least two selection, including one on the first team, were North Carolina, Cal State Fullerton and Arizona State.

His save total ranked him third during the regular season and currently has him tied for sixth heading into the Super Regionals.

He served as the designated hitter for the majority of the season before moving to first base for the final three weeks. The Newark, Calif., native also led the team with 75 hits and 46 RBIs and tied for the team high with 15 doubles. He also added a triple and four home runs. In conference play, he led the league with a .396 average.
