HORNETS PLACE 18 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON BIG SKY WINTER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A total of 18 Sacramento State student-athletes were named to the Big Sky Conference’s all-academic team today.

To earn all-academic honors from the Big Sky, a student-athlete must have achieved at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average at Sacramento State and have participated in at least half of the team’s competitions during the season. The conference recognized student-athletes from men’s and women’s cross country, football, women’s soccer and volleyball.
 
Women's Indoor track and field led the way with eight all-academic selections, followed by men's indoor track and field (five), women's basketball (four) and men's basketball (one). Among those who were honored were Ericka Violett and Jason Nelson, who each earned the award for the fourth time.
