HORNET COACHES CARAVAN WILL MAKE THREE LOCAL STOPS IN JUNE

For the second straight year, the Sacramento State Athletics Department will be meeting Hornet fans in the area as the Coaches Caravan, presented by Raley’s & Bel Air, will visit three local locations this month.

The Coaches Caravan allows Hornets fans and supporters to visit with Sacramento State coaches and administrators, to hear reviews of the previous season, and preview what to expect from the Hornets in the upcoming 2016-17 seasons.

This year’s Caravan will consist of three stops in the Sacramento area, and giveaways will be dispersed, including schedules and Sacramento State Athletics t-shirts.

The first stop of the Caravan is set for Friday, June 10, at the Raley’s in College Greens. Others stops will include the Elk Grove Bel Air on Friday, June 17, and the Gold River Bel Air on Friday, June 24. Times for each of those dates is 5-6 p.m.

“This has been our way to get out in the city and say thank you and engage more of our local alumni,” Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Markus Jennings said. “We (the athletics department) appreciate the great support from Hornet fans, and these events continue to be great ‘friend raisers’ and an excellent chance to bring Sacramento State Athletics to the community.”

The list of coaches and administrators scheduled to be on the Coaches Caravan includes head coaches Jody Sears (Football), Brian Katz (Men’s Basketball), Bunky Harkleroad (Women’s Basketball), Randy Solorio (Gymnastics), Randy Dedini (Women’s Soccer), Reggie Christiansen (Baseball), Jeff Magley (Track & Field), Michael Linenberger (Men’s Soccer), Lori Perez (Softball), David Sutherland (Women’s Golf) and Ruben Volta (Volleyball), as well as Director of Athletics Bill Macriss.

The events are drop-in-as-you-please and introduce yourself to one of the coaches.
