SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento State student-athletes in five winter sports combined to receive 37 academic all-conference awards. The Hornets earned 33 Big Sky all-academic awards in men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's indoor track and field. In addition, four gymnasts received Mountain Pacific Sports Federation all-academic awards.

The Hornet women's indoor track and field team team had 14 Big Sky all-academic honorees, most among Sacramento State's winter sports sports. Women's basketball had eight players honored, while men's indoor track and field received seven. Both men's basketball and gymnastics had four all-academic selections. 

To be eligible for Big Sky all-academic recognition, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions. In track & field, a student-athlete competed at the indoor conference championships. 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.

To be eligible for MPSF all-academic honors (gymnastics): 1) A student-athlete must have a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average. 2) Be at least a sophomore academically. 3) Must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received. 4) Must have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in the student-athlete's respective sport.
